Cruises - The Sensible Way to Travel
Cruise fares include your accommodations, on-board activities, parties and entertainment; most meals and snacks on board; and, most of all, an exciting voyage to some of the most beautiful and culturally-enriching places in the world. There are basically two types of ships: large and small. The large ships are actually floating resorts. They offer all the amenities that a fine resort has and more. Smaller ships offer most of these same amenities, but are more intimate. On a cruise, whether the ship is large or small, you are bound to meet new friends who share your tastes and interests. One of the benefits (my personal favorite) of a cruise is traveling from one destination to another without having to pack and unpack. Last year, on my cruise through Hawaii, I was able to get a taste of the Hawaiian Islands without the stress of “moving” from one island to another. A cruise is a great way to travel with a group. This past July, Monte Carlo Travel hosted a group to Venice and the Greek Isles. Although we were a group, each of us was able to do what we chose. Some chose to be pampered in the ship’s full service spa, while others were taking part in the ship’s many activities. It is a vacation your way! The dining options are vast and you are able to see one great show after another, if you choose. Cruising is one of the best vacation values. There are cruises that fit every budget. You can cruise for as little as three days or as long as three months - or even longer! Cruise ships visit over 500 ports worldwide. There is no time to be bored. You can attend one of many classes offered, watch a feature film, attend an enrichment lecture, work out at the gym, or sit back and read a book. Monte Carlo Travel has planned three group cruises so far for 2011: The first is a seven-day roundtrip Western Caribbean cruise from Miami in January. This cruise will stop at Grand Cayman, Mexico (two ports) and Honduras, with two days at sea. In May, we will host a group on a transatlantic cruise. This cruise starts in Fort Lauderdale and sails across the Atlantic with stops in Madeira, Cadiz, Alghero (Sardinia), Civitavecchia (Rome), Livorno (Florence), Monte Carlo and concludes in Barcelona. We have also planned a couple of days in Barcelona before returning to the United States. July’s voyage will be to the British Isles. Beginning and ending in Southampton, the ship will make stops throughout England, Scotland, Ireland, and France. A post cruise tour of London is planned.
